Cusco | Gearbox bearing insert | GT/GR 86 & BRZ I & II

We are offering you the gearbox bearing insert from Cusco. With this insert, you keep the "soft" original bearing and simply reduce the play, which is unfortunately very large in the factory bearing.

It is known that the Toyubaru gearbox has a few weak points, especially in the 1st generation: 1st and 2nd gear in cold weather and especially when changing gear quickly when changing load (e.g. on the track or when driving outside the StZVO), even in higher gears, the gear shifting can be a bit choppy. On the one hand, new gearbox oil helps, especially in cold weather, but the original gearbox mount in particular has a lot of play and doesn't get any tighter over time.

This bearing comes into play right here and you don't have to replace the entire bearing, not even the harder rubber (like the one from Whiteline), it just supports the original bearing.

A notice:

Whiteline's solution has the same goal (better shifting feel), but instead of lining the bearing and reducing the play, you only replace the rubber bearing. The solutions are very similar in effect! In the end, it's a matter of taste. The Cusco bearing reduces the play and retains the soft bearing (daily-friendly, but can sometimes rattle due to the metal). Whiteline is a bit sportier by replacing the rubber and your entire bearing is tighter, which can lead to a slight overall noise level. But the differences are really small.
