The GKTECH Traction Mod Kit combines adjustable rear arms with brackets to relocate their pivot points. This allows for precise tuning of the rear suspension geometry: the kit reduces anti-squat and changes the toe curve during compression and rebound to improve traction under acceleration. The result depends on proper adjustment and your overall suspension setup.

Details

  • Length-adjustable arms made from chromoly steel tubing, 28 mm outer diameter and 3 mm wall thickness
  • PTFE-lined rod ends instead of compliant rubber bushings
  • Relocation brackets with double-shear mounting
  • TIG-welded, CAD-designed, and FEM-analyzed
  • Fits Toyota GT86 ZN6, GR86 ZN8 as well as Subaru BRZ ZC6 and ZD8
  • Part number: GT86-TRTN

Installation and Initial Setup

  1. Remove the factory traction arm and the rear subframe bolt marked in the instructions.
  2. Install the GKTECH arm, bracket, and spacers according to the exploded view. The factory bracket is retained; the larger spacer goes on top.
  3. Align the arm so that its bend faces away from the subframe, downwards and away from the wheel.
  4. Install all bolts hand-tight, then tighten according to the torque specification diagram.
  5. After tightening the adjustment, check the rod end alignment: the rod end must be perpendicular to the spacers.
  6. With the suspension fully compressed, check for clearance between the arm and the bracket. If necessary, trim the bracket to create space.

Baseline Measurements

Dimensions A and B refer to the drawing in the instructions, not the total length of the arm.

Ride Height Dimension A Dimension B
Stock height 74 mm 47 mm
25 mm lower 84 mm 51 mm
50 mm lower 94 mm 56 mm

Stock height is approximately 370 mm from the wheel center to the top of the wheel arch.

For increased toe-in gain during compression, the arm may be shortened by a maximum of 10 mm in 5 mm increments from the baseline setting. We do not recommend lengthening the arm, as this can lead to unstable toe-out behavior.

Installation Instructions

After installation, have the wheel alignment professionally measured and adjusted.
