The rigid GKTECH differential bushings reduce differential movement in the subframe and raise it by 20 mm. For lowered vehicles, this can provide more favorable driveshaft angles and reduce the load on the CV joints. The extent of the improvement depends on your vehicle's ride height.
At GreenFuchs, we exclusively offer the +20mm raised version for lowered vehicles.
Details
- CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum, black anodized
- Part number: GT86-DIFR
- Fits Toyota GT86 ZN6, GR86 ZN8, as well as Subaru BRZ ZC6 and ZD8
- Included in delivery: two rear differential bushings and two lower stoppers
Installation – important for the raised version
Remove the differential. The stock rear bushing is pressed out of the subframe. For the two-hole bushing, catch any leaking oil, carefully cut through the outer sleeve, and remove it. Do not cut into the subframe while doing so.
Clean the mounting points and lightly grease them for installation. Align the new bushings correctly: two-hole bushing on the left, one-hole bushing on the right; the elongated hole must be at the top. Use a rubber mallet or a protective wooden block to insert them.
The front stock bushings in the differential housing must also be removed. The instructions describe cutting the rubber, removing the inner section with a 44 mm hole saw, and subsequently removing the outer sleeve.
Use the included lower stoppers during assembly. The stock upper stoppers are not used. Observe torque specifications and any connecting parts that may need to be replaced according to vehicle-specific repair guidelines.
FAQ and Notes
Why 20 mm?
According to GKTECH, the subframe does not allow for a greater differential lift. Raising the subframe further would be a separate modification.
Are modifications necessary?
With an extreme lowering, driveshafts may touch the upper control arm or subframe; in that case, additional adjustments are required. Aftermarket driveshafts or propshafts may also come into contact with the heat shield. Check for clearance.
Do I need additional mounting hardware?
According to GKTECH, the stock bolts and nuts are used.
How difficult is the installation?
GKTECH estimates about 30 minutes with the differential already removed. This is not the total installation time; tools and experience are required.
Will there be more noise and vibration?
The rigid mounting transmits more of both. GKTECH describes the difference as minor; the individual vehicle setup is also a deciding factor.
Do the bushings fit other vehicles?
Only the models mentioned above are confirmed.
